Around the world: Hungarian

Hungary’s capital city Budapest is known as the Paris of the East. The architecture, the city charm, and the food all contribute to that. The city thrives, like the rest of the country, on cooking up romantic hearty meals such as stews, casseroles, and various meat dishes. These Hungarian recipes are often reliant on staples including lard, sour cream, onions, potatoes, and cabbage. The Hungarians also favour using paprika as a key ingredient in their cooking; they even enjoy spooning it into desserts. They are also famous for their delicate pastries and cakes.
